PEDIATRIC ASSOCIATES
get to know us
Pediatric Associates has been serving Nevada families for over 50 years. Our physicians and staff are here to help you raise healthy, happy children. We know that there is no greater commitment and responsibility than being a parent. We are committed to creating a comfortable and nurturing environment for your family where we can provide you with the highest quality healthcare.
Our practice has six pediatricians. Each of our board-certified pediatricians provide a full range of primary pediatric care services. They are on staff at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center and Renown Regional Medical Center. Our office participates with most insurance carriers in the Reno area. If you are expecting a baby or looking for a pediatrician for your child, we invite you to make an appointment with us. Please explore our website to learn more about us.
Ages Served
We enjoy the entire range of pediatric care and see children from birth to eighteen for routine care, acute illness, vaccines and minor emergencies.
Services
We provide general pediatric care to infants, children, and adolescents. The services we provide include:
Immunizations
We follow the AAP and CDC guidelines for routine childhood immunizations. We will not see families who don’t want their child vaccinated. Please ask any questions you have about what vaccines your child may need. We will provide you with all documentation records that a school or daycare may require.
Sick visits
These visits are obviously unexpected. We strive to see all our sick patients on the same day. Please call as early as possible if you feel your child is ill and needs to be seen. Usually you can see your child’s physician, but anyone else in the office is happy to see your child if your child’s doctor is not in the office that particular day.
Well-child care
These are periodic health and educational visits. We measure your child's growth, review developmental milestones, discuss chronic disease management is applicable, and administer any needed vaccines. Please bring any questions/concerns you have about your child to these visits. We schedule these visits in advance with your child’s physician so you have the opportunity to pick days or times that work best for you.
Prenatal appointments
Expecting parents are encouraged to make an appointment to meet with any physician of their choice. Our physicians and staff are happy to answer any questions that you may have. There is no charge for this visit.
Multigenerational Services
Pediatric Associates has practiced in the Reno community for over 50 years. We are most proud of the generations of family members who continue to trust in our care and keep bringing the newest members of their family back to our office. Some of our physicians are seeing the second and third generations of patients.
Immunizations
We follow the AAP and CDC guidelines for routine childhood immunizations. We will not see families who don’t want their child vaccinated. Please ask any questions you have about what vaccines your child may need. We will provide you with all documentation records that a school or daycare may require.
frenectomy:
tongue ties
Tongue ties are very common and can often be a source of stress for families as they attempt to feed their babies. While tongue ties can affect latch and speech, studies have shown that for a majority of babies with tongue ties, they are cosmetic and feeding improves with time. The first step with a tongue tie, if it seems to be affecting feeding in infants, is to work with a lactation specialist. However, if feeding fails to improve with this extra practice or is severe, here at Pediatric Associates one of our providers has been trained to correct most tongue ties with a simple in-office procedure in young infants under 1-2 months of age. If your child is older or is determined to have a tie more at risk of bleeding or complications, which is not common, then we are able to help facilitate getting in with one of the ear, nose, and throat doctors to minimize the risks with the procedure for your child.
breastfeeding & lactation medicine
With a deep understanding that each story is unique, and that the lactation journey begins before the arrival of a newborn, we provide a nurturing environment for parents embarking on the beautiful yet challenging path of lactation and breastfeeding.
